| - This place is great! Came in here for their happy hour the other day and it was definitely tasty.
First, we arrived at 4pm and their happy hour doesn't start till 4:30, so I was surprised when our waitress said she'd give us the happy hour deals anyway-- Score!
I immediately checked in on Yelp and got some free guacamole-- Double Score!
We ordered a beer and a margarita for $5 each, and started off with our guacamole, some queso, chips and salsa.
The queso is big. Very good, but also very large and heavy. I'd recommend only ordering this if you're looking for a gut-buster and have more than 2 people... this will fill you up.
Sopes- We ordered the appetizer sopes, which had 2 beef, 2 carnitas, and 2 veggies. The veggies were just ok, but the carnitas and beef were outstanding.
Tamales- Almost the same, one beef (huge tamales, cut in half), one carnitas and one cheese. My boyfriend loved them. He said they could have used a little more meat and sauce, but they were great. I ate a little bit of each, but I've never really loved tamales, so my opinion isn't nearly as valuable if you're looking for whether or not they're solid.
The Mexican street style corn- An absolute MUST. You're tastebuds will thank you. The corn isn't nearly as heavy as some of the street corn I've had in the past (loaded with mayo). Their corn almost has a creme fraiche style sauce and is creamy, tasty and I'd take it home to mom and marry it.
This place is solid. I'll definitely be coming back again!
