  • My daughter had cold like symptoms for 3 days prior to this incident. On the morning of 03/10/2018 my 5 month old daughter woke up with rapid breathing. I took her to UMC Quick Care because her pediatricians office is closed on the weekends and I have chosen UMC Quick Care as her secondary emergency doctor. Well, once they took vitals, they noticed something was off. The nurse said "hmm, lets try it again its kind of low." She had called in another nurse to show her my daughters toe nails because they are painted. That nurse came in and finished us up. She had looked at my daughters stomach and noticed she was working to breathe. She brought us into a room so "Doctor" Conrado C Concio could evaluate us. My daughter was very fussy she was not feeling good at all. When Concio came in he did not smile at all and seemed very agitated. He told me "ugh, I cannot hear. Can you calm her down." very rude and unprofessional. He had me undress my baby and listened to her lungs. Then, he had me lay her on the bed so he can watch her breathe. He seen her stomach caving in and looked at me and said "She is fine. She is breathing like that because you are not suctioning her nose enough. This is a cold. You need to start suctioning her nose because she cannot tell you that she has boogers." Which I have told him I do suction her nose especially before feeding. He walked out of the room without saying anything to me. Did not run any tests or anything. So I dressed my baby and walked out to leave and one of the nurses stopped me to give me a discharge paper that had a diagnosis of Upper Respiratory Infection. Concio never went over that with me or anything. Once I got home I suctioned my babies nose, fed her and let her sleep. She was sleeping for a few hours so I figured since she is sick its good she is sleeping. Well I felt something was not right. She was still breathing rapid and I needed a second opinion. I took her into St Rose Peds ER where they had confirmed she was struggling to breathe. Her o2 levels were low so they suctioned out her nose and put her on oxygen. They sent her secretions to the lab and did a chest x-ray and it came back positive for RSV. We were admitted into the hospital that night and did not get discharged until 03/13/2018. If I would have never took my baby into the hospital for a second opinion my daughter would have died because of Conrado C Concio's malpractice.
