I have been wanting to try out Tamari ever since I heard about it and finally went tonight. Like previous reviewers, I was impressed by the decor, atmosphere, and plating. It would be a nice date place if it wasn't so noisy. Also, the waiter could have been a bit more attentive.
We got the Peking duck quesadia off the small plate menu, a chilean sea bass with black bean sauce, and the pork belly. My dining mate really enjoyed the sea bass and black bean sauce while I found my pork belly a bit too salty. Ironically, the small plate was somewhat more filling than the entree meals.
I have had Peking duck in China multiple times and needless to say, the Peking duck quesadia does not live up to those standards. But it was pretty good. The combinations of flavors on the menu is really innovative and interesting and I would definitely want to try more if it was less expensive.
If there was a finer scale, I would say 3.7 for the overall experience.
