I like Curry Zen but there's a few things about it that concerns me. First off there are too many dishes on their menu that should be improved or at least evaluated. The sausage curry should not belong on the menu. I'm sorry but it doesn't look like something that should be served at a 4-5 star restaurant. It's literally pieces of cut sausage covered in their curry sauce. Usually less is more, and this is a prime example!
Next, the katsudon is advertised as their prime dish, even stating it as the house dish on their menu if I remember correctly. For something that is their house dish, it was nothing special. In fact, I recommend their standard chicken curry instead. I feel like newcomers to the restaurant or even newbies to curry-eaters in general may not enjoy the katsudon. It's a little soggy and on the bland side.
I like their chicken curry especially with the cheese and corn toppings. The curry, rice and chicken were all on point. I have to say the curry is very flavorful, go to a 7 or 8 if you're around that number with thai food.
Service is friendly and prompt, food is great but I only stick with the curry chicken.
