  • I can now report that I have stayed here. My first review only involved dining at their buffet, but I've now had the pleasure of staying here, too. When my daughter and her boyfriend (soon to be fiance') came for the recent Thanksgiving holiday, they wanted to take a brief sojourn to Las Vegas, so my husband, other daughter and I gladly obliged !! We chose the Aria, and we LOVED it. Our rooms were excellent. Spacious, ultra clean and comfortable, and for a very reasonable rate. We also had a special package of free breakfast each day and another $100 for the entire stay for any additional food, beverage, etc. It definitely helped, and we availed ourselves to all of it. I don't know if it was because of the Mandalay Bay shootings or what, but they have a very strict security checking for room keys, etc. to board the elevators to the rooms. I'm okay with that. Here was my favorite part, truth be told. We noticed a bunch of wall switches/buttons, so we started pushing them, thinking they'd turn on the lamps or ceiling lights....... guess what, they didn't !! They controlled the drapes !!! I probably sound like I've lived in the dark ages, but I don't travel much, and this was a first for us to watch our dramatic view disappear as the drapes closed without us doing it. It was sooooooooo cool to watch. I am very easily amused and impressed. I so enjoyed that "show," and I can also assure you that I pressed those buttons far more than they needed to be (so I could watch it again and again...... and again.) I'm a 63 year old kid at heart, yes indeed. The bed was SUPER comfortable, and I loved the pillows. For the first time EVER in a hotel room, I did NOT have to call housekeeping for extra hangers. There were a whole slew in one closet, and a whole slew of them in the other closet. Whoever designed these rooms actually thought ahead. High quality everything, to be sure !! Room service was ordered a couple of times, and all staff were very attentive, courteous and helpful. It was expensive, $30 for 2 pots of tea. Yikes. But it was room service.... what'd I expect? It's okay..... that $100 I mentioned above covered it. I only have one criticism.... the shower, while very spacious and with a wonderful ledge to sit on, had a very slippery marble base to stand on. It should have had some type of non-slip finish or something, but that was the only issue. Everything else was wonderful. We availed ourselves to the breakfast buffet, and unfortunately, I was fighting some stomach flu type thing, so I didn't eat anything more than yogurt with a few pieces of fruit, but everyone else ate a feast and enjoyed everything they put on their plates. It really looked good, and my daughters remembering our meal here a few years ago, thought it was better this time and that they improved upon their dishes. I honestly didn't remember from then till now, but I trust their memories and their opinions. :-) Last, but certainly not least, we embarked upon a rather unusual but exciting research project.... hotels as wedding venues, of which the Aria happened to be first on the list. What we loved most about it is that they do EVERYTHING, which is something my daughter loved. Based on what we saw, both in person and by way of photographs, and by speaking with one of the wedding consultants, SO FAR, THIS hotel is the frontrunner. As of this writing, we have more to research, but the Aria seems to be what my daughter and (future son-in-law) would like. While this could still run plenty of money, this appears to be the most accommodating in terms of cost and what they would do for the bride and groom. Plus, my daughter knows someone who recently got married here, and she loved it. So, we'll see. This is a work in progress, and frankly, she kinda needs to get engaged first, lol.
