First off , let me start by saying that staff at Charleston Coffee House were very accommodating. I decided to stop in one morning on my way to work. I wanted so much to fall in love with this particular spot. Lorain has needed an independently owned coffee shop on the ghost like main strip for years.
I asked the worker if I could get a large iced vanilla latte. He looked taken back by the request and said "yeah....I can make that". I think my expectations and his expectations differed on the actual making of the iced latte.
I noticed the automatic espresso machine and instantly realized they probably didn't have chilled espresso for cold drinks in the fridge. The "iced vanilla latte" wasn't even close to a latte in the slightest. I was given a lukewarm frothy milk poured over regular coffee.... *sigh*
The price considering the lack of knowledge and craft in making the latte do not match/align with basic coffee standards.
More coffee knowledge & reasonable prices need to be seriously considered by managment.
