  • If you live in Matthews, or thereabouts, and you want a bike shop with talented and knowledgeable bike techs close to home, then this is the place for you. My first experience with them was with my first mountain bike that I'd bought from a big box sporting goods store in Matthews. Anyhow, the sporting goods store tried to tell me I needed a whole new crank set which would've been an expensive endeavor. On recommendation from my neighbor, I took my mountain bike to Ultimate Bicycle for a second opinion. The dudes at Ultimate bike concluded that only my bearings needed to be replaced, and they fixed my bike for a fraction of the cost of what the sporting goods store wanted to charge me. So yeah, a little honesty goes a long way, and I've been a loyal customer ever since. Also, one of my biggest pet peeves about bike shops is that they're prone to bike snobbery, but not at Ultimate Bicycle. Nothing but nice down to earth folks working here. So yes, this is a great place to go to purchase a bike, but even if you didn't get your bike here, this is definitely the place to take it for a repair. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, that unlike those big box sporting goods stores that ALWAYS ask you to leave your bike with them for a few days, and even weeks, the dudes at Ultimate Bicycle will usually have you up and running the same day, or even while you wait--if they have the part in stock. What can I say, they're a great bunch of guys. Almost forgot. They also have wide variety of accessories--tires, tubes, mirrors, helmets, lights, pumps, hydration packs, lubes, cleaners, etc.
