I've been to this theater about 10 times in the 12 years or so they have been open. It has gone downhill each time. I seriously doubt I'll ever go back. There's just too many options now.
First, the outdoor ticket sales. Who does that anymore? At least have an option to buy from a machine inside. The movie times are posted on the side of the ticket sales booth on a piece of printer paper. They can't even get a digital display? There was 1 person manning the ticket booth and a line of about 10 people. About a minute per person leads to a 10 minute wait. Once inside, there was no ambient noise, it was like a library. No music or movie previews, nothing. It was just awkward. On to the concession stand...they have popcorn but it doesn't even seem to be popped fresh. Someone brought in a giant tub of already popped popcorn and dumped it into the display case where it gets scooped into your bag. I didn't see a real popcorn maker. Now if the price of popcorn reflected the cheapness of the product, I could get it. It was over $13 for the #1 combo of large drink and large popcorn. The popcorn wasn't even good and tasted old.
The counter to the concession stand was dirty and greasy too.
On to the theater itself, several of the seats had bags over them due to being broken, there was a sign on the theater door that said the heat was broken-sorry. Then I went to the bathroom to find several urinals with bags over them and one of the stalls was out of order.
The ticket price was $7 for matinee and $9.50 for night showings after 5p. Pretty much the same as the real theaters.
This place is as ghetto as it gets. It's a shame they don't take pride in it. No doubt this place will be out of business within weeks when the Harkins goes in next year. Obviously the owners just don't care.
The one thing I liked was there were absolutely zero previews. It was start time and the movie began. Odd, but nice.
