| - As an adult with a car, I'm not bound to the university area, and thus have access to any number of superior alcohol establishments in the city. Please keep in mind as this may be in stark contrast to many of the other reviewers.
Interior looked barren upon entry, complete with uncomfortable high tables / chairs. The overall feel was a little drab, certainly not a warm tavern feel one can grow accustomed to in Cleveland. ABC tavern has an unacceptable amount of beers on draft, a grand total of four (4) on my visit, of which most were overpriced and mediocre in quality. Compared to the massive draft lists of quality beer boasted at the winking lizard, Melt, or even the nearby jolly scholar, such a draft list is laughable. The bottled selection is admittedly large, but for being a tavern that seems to have an emphasis on alcohol, the alcohol diversity is poor. Certainly the quality of drafts available is more important than quantity (ie Wine Cave), but a lack of both is concerning.
Food selection was quite limited, taste and value of the entrees received were fair. Service was speedy, and the waitstaff seemed pleasant. Late hours seem great.
Unless out of options or already drunk and in walking distance, I see no reason to go out of my way to attend the ABC Tavern.
