| - I don't understand why I keep wanting to go back here. Maybe it is the large plate of food and blue corn bread that comes with the Carnitas Enchiladas, my preferred dish. Or maybe it is the kiwi margarita during happy hour, even though it gives me heart burn. I always leave this place thinking the service was mediocre, the food was standard, and that I probably should not have ordered 2 margaritas. I usually feel so stuffed I walk out like I am being pulled from my stomach. I usually need to sit in my car for a few minutes before I can drive away due to how stuffed I feel. I hate feeling this stuffed but I always order the Carnitas Enchiladas and never finish it.
Also, their chimi is frozen. I once asked if they could not put in the mushrooms and they revealed they freeze them, claiming this needs to be done to deep fry it. Not sure how truthful it is, but being a chain and freezing meals is not what I like in a restaurant.
The noise level in this place seems to be high, as in blasting pop music so loud it drains out other tables' conversations and makes you shout to the person in front of you. This is more often than not, yet sometimes it is not that loud.
They have outdoor seating which I say I want every time but when I peak around the corner before entering it reminds me of an outdoor bar or party. People standing at their table or over the fence railing with their drinks chatting. Not the atmosphere I prefer for dinner.
Some notable mentions are that the black beans are spicy, just how I like and the kiwi margarita is very tasty.
I give this place 3 stars because I feel it is mediocre and standard. Plus I always walk away paying more than I want, or think they deserve.
