After visiting Jose Andres' China Poblano here at the Cosmopolitan I thought it would be cool to go to what made him famous, Jaleo. On this occasion it was a early birthday dinner for a cousin with my brother and a out of town friend. In proper tradition we ordered many dished that we would all try out (Spanish Dim Sum LOL!). Service was pretty good, out waitress knew the menu very well and suggested some of her favorites to us, only down part was having to ask for refill various times from the runners.
This is what we had:
- Paella Valenciana (Chicken & Rabbit Paella)
- Pan con tomate w/ Spanish anchovies (Toasted slices of rustic bread brushed with fresh tomato w/ Spanish anchovies)
- Jamón Ibérico
- Aceitunas rellenas y aceitunas 'Ferrán Adrià' (Olives stuffed with anchovy and piquillo and 'Ferrán Adrià' liquid olives)
- 5 Cheese Queso sampler
- Butifarra casera esparracada (Homemade pork sausage stew with mushrooms and pearl onions)
- Croquetas de pollo (Chicken fritters)
- Croquetas de jamón Ibérico (Traditional fritters with Ibérico ham)
- Tortilla de erizos (Spanish omelet with sea urchin)
- Salmon crudo con vinagreta de anchoas (Raw salmon with anchovy-lemon oil)
- Carne Asada
Everything was very delicious and everyone had a good times and good conversation. Our tab came to about $240 with tip which is about what I expected for a place like this. I was not stuffed but certainly satisfied with the experience.
