| - My new favourite salon. I came here because my previous hairdresser moved, and I am very apprehensive about trying new hairstylists. You never know what you're going to get.
I came here first to get my colour done, to scope out the place and see if I liked it before booking a cut appointment. Sarah is great, and super friendly. They have normal colour formulas but also an organic line, which is a bit more pricey, but perfect for a preggo mom to be like me. The colour doesn't last as long (maybe less a month) I found. After colour is applied, you'll sit under a dryer for about 30 mins which isn't needed with regular colour. They also include a blow dry in the price - which compared to my old salon this is a steal, they used to charge me separately and I would rack up a bill of about $200+. With my organic colour it was about $110, including blow dry. Probably less with regular colour formula. Expect to be there for about 2 hours.
I booked my hair cut with Jon. I never know how to choose a stylist. but everyone looked really friendly. They seem to all have a good skill set too. Jon is one of the owners (Hi Jon) and for the price I was paying previously, the price point here doesn't compare. The cut was great, and he was very personable. I've never spent the entire session chatting with the stylist and usually have my head down in a book. He listened to my concerns and how I like my hair and maintain it. I I'm very cautious about stylists especially the first time, but he made me feel comfortable and didn't do anything without consultation. You can tell he has both a passion for hair but also customer service and making the customer happy.
The best test was after washing it, my hair still feels great. I asked when I needed to come back and it wasnt until about 4 months, which I felt was a really long time (this is a good thing!).
They also offer free cleanup for bangs or thinning of bulk in the hair between. Just book an appointment!
Other perks include a whole juice, tea or coffee menu and sometimes freshly baked popcorn. They will also follow up and call you a week later. If you're not satisfied you can get a clean up or trim for free. .
I've been really happy with my last few appointments here and would recommend it to anyone in the west end. I think the prices are quite reasonable for a full service high quality.salon. If you're looking for something cheaper, you can go to Supercuts, you get what you pay for.
