  • If you want intimacy and faster service, then The Golden Tiki, on a FRi or SAt night, during VIVA LAS VEGAS ROCKABILLY WEEKEND, would NOT be the place to go. We know this, but if you can't see a packed house, crew busting ass, 4 deep at the bar, you may have your eyes sewn shut. I certainly don't feel so entitled to think I will be served promptly, or that my hand crafted drink would take any less time, just because I expect it. Pretentious behavior and expectation are always a bad look and sure to get you disappointment. I love this bar, but I know when to say 'hm...maybe not here, tonight.' As you can see by the new flooding of reviews, the majority of the guests enjoyed themselves, were patient and civil. Oh, and by the looks of all of the pics I have seen, they had a great time. ...and BOOM goes the dyno-mite!!! Ca. can keep their Trader Sam's! I have my own playground, and it's 10 minutes away. We went to the Seafood Buffet, at the Oleans, and headed on over to get some dole whip dessert and early cocktails. We ordered three mugs of delicious. Our server is Asia, and she is the most pleasant and attentive server in the whole place. She knows her drinks, and makes great recommendations. The owner is a great fellow. Even though he isn't from Vegas, he made a personal effort to get himself acquainted with the locals, like we've known him, all along! The Golden Tiki - Jamaican Rum and Michters rye are blended with Apricot Liquor, ginger, mango and five spice syrup to create our new signature tiki cocktail. Polynesian Haze - Derived from the Fog Cutter classic. Cuban and Jamaican Rums are combined with St Georges Gin, Ximenez Sherry, lemon juice and orgeat syrup. Galiano, lemongrass and mango are substituted to create a new palette of tiki goodness. and last, but not least... Banana Batida - Avua Cashaca is mixed with banana liquor, coconut cream and Dole pineapple whip, blended, and topped with grated nutmeg. Creating a delicious variation of this classic Brazilian cocktail. soooooo yummy. Glad we saved the best for last! We had samples of dole whip, and I have to say, they taste so much better in the air conditioned coolness, and starlit sky of the Mermaid Lagoon. We missed having the opportunity to visit with the owner, but we will most definitely catch him for a chat, in the very near future. We loved our server, but I can't pronounce her name! She told us everything we needed to know. It was so fun, I swear we felt like mischievous children in a tree hut, giggling and laughing our butts off (just because we are a bit silly) and having a great time! Three mugs, down, four to go! I forgot to ask about locals only pendants...was this a rumor? If not, we will be needing two ;)
