Talk about foodgasm. I've always been a fan of cheesy foods but these 2 items has blew my mind since I haven't had any other cheese baked goods as unique before.
Let's talk about the cheese tart first. The delicate flaky crust (similar to the exterior a souffle/danish pastry) was soft but yet it was strong enough to hold the warm runny cheese inside the tart together. The downside of this however, is that eating it could get quite messy as the cheese is presented in a liquid form rather than in a solid form. So make sure you eat this monster inside the box or on a plate. But nonetheless it was fragrant in cheesy flavor.
As for Cheese Garden's new Double Fromage Matcha Cheesecake, it was really one of the best desserts I've discovered recently; as it will guarantee to make you say "Mmm" as soon as you devour it in your mouth.
Best served cold for a stronger bolder fresh cheesier taste.
There's 4 distinct layers to this Matcha Cheesecake. The bottom layer is a thin layer of spongey matcha cake. The next 2 middle layers is pretty much what makes this cake unforgettably mouth-watering.
There's a layer of frozen cheesecake and a layer of baked matcha cheesecake in the middle. Hence, when you take a bite of the 2 combination of layers together, you will get a ultra rich creamy cheesy taste that would melt ever so perfectly in your mouth. Almost as if you were having a icecream sandwich. To top it off, the cake is then sprinkled with matcha cookie crumbles.
At approximately $22 for the full-size cake, the portion may be quite small for the price you're paying for but every quality bite is really worth the last penny.
I would recommend anyone to try this. It's a great gift idea as well. Promise
Tip: Ask for a sample when you walk in and try it out for yourself.
