| - If I go through an autumn season in Cleveland without a) going on a drive through the county to look at the leaves or b) going to Patterson's--welp it's considered a fail.
This fruit farm and shop IS fall. Period.
Come here on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, breathe in the crisp fall smells, and take in the glorious views. Just expect it to be busy--and by busy, I mean they have multiple security guys directing traffic and parking. This is no hidden secret destination here. If you live in NE Ohio, you know you have to come here for some apples, pumpkins and family fun in the fall.
There are pumpkins everywhere, more apples than you know what to do with, and then you round the corner and you realize you're not even at the shop yet. You walk inside and you're basically paralyzed with the sweet smells of fresh pies and deserts baking. Donuts, apple goodies, jams, pancake mixes, cider, you name it. All local tasties, all ready to take home.
The variety and quality of their apples is top notch to say the least. But then again, if they can't do that right then what else is there? Once you make your way through the crowded store filled with knick knacks, sweet treats and produce, head over to grab a bite to eat. More food? Yes. More food. They have freshly made burgers, hot dogs, fries and other good eats ready to fill any growling belly. You know, just in case it wasn't already filled with apples or kettle corm popped right in front of your face.
Don't forget to check out the view either. Patterson's just so happens to be a popular location to get married.
P.S. The Patterson's Family Fun Fest is up the street from the farm and shop. If you're like me, you forget this and screw it up almost every year. But then again, it's worth paying a visit to both places anyways!
A fall must-do every year. It can get a little hectic, but it's always a great time and experience. Perfect family activity for a beautiful weekend afternoon.
