  • This store is by my mother's house and I have been shopping there for 15+ years. Maybe because I don't live here, the complete degradation of the store is more obvious to me than those people who shop there frequently. Five years ago, it was a beautiful store with excellent produce and meat. Now it's like shopping in a low-rent Albertsons. I shopped there two days ago and the produce section was tired and picked over. I wanted to buy chicken thighs with skin, but all they had were massive packages of antibiotic-puffed chicken thighs, or smaller packages without skin. The brands I remember are gone. They've doubled the size of the liquor aisle and moved the bread to the middle of the store. I could go on. My mother has decided to stop shopping at Vons and will be driving down Eastern to Smiths from this point forward. Management of this store, you deserve an "F" for the changes you've made to this place over the past give years. Doing some research, I discovered that Vons/Safeway was purchased by Cerberus Capital Management, the owner of Albertsons. Congratulations, Cerberus, you've destroyed the Vons/Safeway brand!
