Every 8 weeks we take our dogs (Athena and Pebbles) to get their nails done. We like to have them ground down because some of the groomers there cut their quicks. They have short hair so we don't do a lot of other grooming. When we took them in today one of the groomers mentioned that because their nails were "long" they would have to both trim them and then grind them which cost $20 per dog. This was the first I've heard of this. I've watched them do their nails before and they have always cut them first then ground them to make them round. When I said that this was the first I've heard of this the groomer said "Well, if you bring them in more frequently, around 6-8 weeks then they wouldn't be this long." Sensing her attitude, I asked her when our last visit was (because I know we go every 8 weeks) and she said "oh. It's been eight weeks since your last visit" but refused to budge on the price. $20 for a nail trim is ridiculous! I would rather support a local groomer
