| - This is a haven for anything sports related. I frequently come here for my kids hockey gear, skate sharpening and ski wear.
We stopped in yesterday as the man required a new ski jacket, and had his sights set on a NorthFace but for some reason or other he couldn't commit! Enter sales associate Shane, whatta guy. This was by far the most outstanding customer service I have received from a sales associate since I purchased my new vehicle, and even then I found this guy better than the car salesman, and he's probably not even on commission!
We were between a NorthFace that I wasn't cray cray about the color combinations or a Columbia, we weren't really married to either selection but once Shane peeked over and saw us going back and forth between a couple that weren't available in my husbands size, he suggested some of the Columbia coats.
He walked over to the section with us, went over what each coat had to offer. He asked what we were looking to spend and in all honestly there was no budget, just whatever fit and caught his eye would have been great. I should point out that the NorthFace we were humming and hawing about was on sale for about $270! Thats a great price considering he was expecting to spend at least another $100 on a similar at Mountain Equipment Co-op.
Shane suggests a multi use coat (dual layer), one that can be used for skiing or casual wear, it was not available in his size, sigh, but alas, this gem actually went out of his way and tracked one in his size down.
He came back and had my husband try both sizes on to gauge what fit is better and what-not, gave his opinion and stepped back letting us discuss, in the end my husband went with Shane's recommendation.
We go to pay and we were not expecting this, the coat, which would usually run about $250 ended up being about $115! For a Columbia Ski Jacket! CRAZY! I've purchased hoodies for that price!
Anyway, totally stellar service from this guy, would definitely come back and recommend! I have been to other Sports Cheks around the city and found that half the time the staff doesn't give a crap, in a perfect world, all sales associates would be as great as this guy. Thanks Shane!
