I did not like this place.
It priced out cheaper than the low end choices, off strip, but I soon found out why.
The line to check in took longer than the flight from Denver.
The room was small & cheap (think pre-Tropicana renovation).
The clientele was ghetto and trashy. Loud talking people in the halls. Just trashy.
I went to eat at the Japanese/ Korean sushi restaurant on site and the staff was rude.
That said, the staff at the Imperial was awesome. Super nice. Very friendly and accommodating - I suppose because by the time you reach them you are sweating and pissed off - there should be a drink and a massage at the check in desk... by the time you get there.
Oh, and there seems to be a maze to get from the main level to the tower elevators in the back. I stepped out of the elevator and could not find my way back to my room to save my life. I ended up at a bus stop in the rear of the hotel. WTF! I have no idea how I got there, and after making 3 circles through the lobby finally went to the main elevator and tried again. No doubt security watched me walk around lost, wondering where the hell I was going and if I was on drugs. I wasn't. But, I wasted 45 minutes trying to get back to my room.
Totally insane - the Imperial Bermuda Triangle.
I won't go back - I'd rather pay the 10 extra for Super 8 - sad day.
The location is cool. mid-strip, but damn. I'd rather walk 2 blocks...in 113 degree weather.
transportation note: there is a bus that goes directly from the hotel to the airport which costs $7
(opposed to a taxi which costs about $20 large)
