Went on a Saturday night. The place was packed. Initial reaction, small place with nice décor. Like the bar as well. Nice outdoor patio, wish the weather was a bit cooler.
Staff was friendly and on point. Water cups were regularly refilled. Seemed like someone was always coming around looking to fill empty glasses. We also kept getting our table cleaned and a new setup after every course.
We started with a chorizo and shrimp appetizer. It was a bit salty. Big shrimp and slivers of chorizo with some red and yellow tomatoes. For our entrees, we ordered an oven-roasted jerk pork shoulder bowl and shrimp scampi. The shrimp scampi had the same huge shrimp. The portion was what I would consider average. But seeing other peoples food as well as the jerk pork shoulder bowl, I felt ripped off. The other entrees were HUGEEEEEEEE!!! The jerk pork shoulder was very tender, but I couldn't taste much of the jerk seasoning. The rice underneath the mounds of pork was quite delicious.
DW Bistro is really good for a neighborhood restaurant. I saw someone order the jerk fried chicken and it looked quite delicious, and also a big portion. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. And I will definitely be back. I'm on the cusp of saying it is a 5 star place, but for now I can only give it 4 stars.
