I haven't had to buy a whole lot from Ace, but when we moved in nearly 2 years ago, we needed to get rescreening of one of the screen doors. Scotty did it and did a great job. This spring we returned to get new solar screens for most of our windows that needed it. Scotty did these solar screens and they turned out fantastic.
The only thing that I didn't like regarding the new solar screens was the wait time. When I placed my order and paid for them, he told me it would be about a month (this was in the 3rd week of March). That was okay since it wasn't probably going to be too hot yet, but I thought a month turn around time was too long. They were close to where I live and I didn't want to go hunting for another place to do it as I had other home projects going on at the same time.
Scotty did tell me he probably could get more orders through if he could crank out the easier orders instead of in the order the orders came in. He said sometimes he has to wait for parts or stuff on some orders, which delays all the other orders following it, as he's supposed to fulfill them in the order they come in. I don't see why while waiting for parts for the earlier orders to come in why he can't crank out the easier orders.
Scotty seems quite efficient at making the screens and he does quality work. It doesn't make sense to have such a backlog of work that is created by waiting for parts when more orders can be processed if while waiting for parts, Scotty is able to tackle other easier jobs first. I'll bet Scotty actually could have had my 6 screens that were in the $400-500 range done for me in less than a week than the near month schedule it took because he had to follow management's way to fulfill orders.
So, management, it would be nice if you just let Scotty manage the orders more efficiently than the current process that is in place.
I've bought other small items here and the cashiers and other people are always helpful.
