| - Maybe First Friday, and their 2nd Friday of being open wasn't the best time to come. We found parking up the street and around the corner. I was confused on where to enter, once in and after looking around the big square shaped room I found my way to a counter. The cashier/hostess told me there was a 15 minute wait. I gave her my order for 2 Pacifico beers and paid 15.00 she gave me a number card and told me they'd bring my beers to me. There isn't a waiting area so I awkwardly stood against the wall with a few others, hovering over people eating. My husband made his way to the bar and after a few minutes found one available seat. I get that there are kinks to be worked out, and staffing needs to be amped up especially for busy weekends so I maintained a positive attitude. Watching the 3 bartenders work furiously made our 10 minute wait to be acknowledged, fly by. Our beers were brought to us and all was well. Eventually we had a chance to order and the food was good, pricey but good. Description of food; 1. Carne Asada Tacos were tender, perfectly seasoned, small, good corn tortilla and garnished with raw onion/cilantro/lime wedges. You are given 2 plastic bottles one with a green guacamole salsa and the other is red salsa, both great additions to the tacos. 2. Fried Cheese Tower (chichharon de queso) had good flavor and a fun item for your Instagram photos. 3. Paloma Cocktail had a smokey citrus taste to it. All in all I liked the vibe, although a bit hectic and different than original Gallo Blanco #1 @the Clarendon this new building has beautiful character and is a great revitalization to this downtown community. I look forward to coming back on a relaxed day when the wrinkles are ironed out and updating my review to a higher one.
