| - I remember in the late 1960's when my parents took me to this restaurant and back then when you opened the door you would see saw dust on the floor, waiters/waitresses wearing unarmed side arms and the long waiting room which was lined with hungry customers. I also remember a radio station broadcasting inside the restaurant and a pig turning on the spit outside, above the main entrance. As a young adult, I remember coming to this restaurant with my dates and things did not change much. I remember my date wanting to know what steak she should order, T-Bone, Porterhouse, NY strip, Sirloin, Prime Rib, Ribeye...Tonight, I wanted to satisfy my red beef craving and decided to support the local economy, So, I came back to roots and to this restaurant of my youth. When I opened the door, there was no saw dust, no line waiting to be seated...there was no T-bone, porterhouse, ny strip, Prime Rib on the menu. I was immediately disappointed, we discussed leaving then. I order the large Sirloin medium rare, fries and green beans. The steak come out rare, and I had to send it back, butterflied. The green beens came out in an aluminum foil cup that resembled juliened green alien looking something...other than greenbeans. They were the worst green beans I have ever tasted. (come on guys, go up the street to Costco and buy a large bag of real greenbeans and zap them in the microwave) Seriously, I would not feed these greenbeans to my dog...
The service was great Joe but I will never come back. It was a sad dining experience.
