Scene: it's our last night in Toronto and we just want to cap it off with a final drink after dinner. Because this was a Sunday night around 1030 pm, a few places seemed to be closed or empty but we continued to walk in seek of the perfect place. We were at the end of our rope and on the verge of giving up.
Enter Barhop: perfectly dark, perfectly populated (not too crowded, but not empty), perfect music to snap to (cool 90s hip hop and RnB being played from vinyl), wide selection of drinks (so many beers on tap) and probably the nicest bartender that I've had during my Toronto visit.
Awesome!
I came in with a hot toddy on my mind. Initially the bartender said he couldn't make one due to equipment issues, so my friend ordered and I spent the next 10 minutes staring at the menu. Watching my confusion and lack of interest in an alternative, the bartender snuck away, boiled some water in the back and made magic. He reappeared with a toddy in hand and I couldn't be any happier.
Thank you! I'll be back.
