In a sea of pretentious and over-crowded Las Vegas restaurants, the Seafood Shack is an outpost of calm. This place is like a TGI Friday's of decent seafood, with attentive staff, surprisingly good food and a pretty perfect location.
We were in Vegas for CES and (guess what?) at 7:00 on Thursday couldn't come up with an easy dinner reservation that wouldn't require corporate socializing... quick search on OpenTable found the Seafood Shack. Don't let the Treasure Island address fool you. Would be easy to be dissuaded by its proximity to Senor Frog's or Gilley's, but the Seafood Shack delivers. It's an easy walk from the center strip, and we were greeted friendily and taken right to our table.
Ordered tilapia tacos which were really delicious... supple fish and just the right amount of cole slaw and aioli. Also had shrimp ceviche which was tender and fresh... and great chips.
Others at the table had gumbo which was "surprisingly delicious" and one of my colleagues even had a chicken sandwich which was pretty darn good.
Overall, this place was exactly what we needed and thanks for a really great experience.
