  • This company recently redid our pool deck and I could not be more pleased. Tim Maas is one of the most experienced people in the valley for this type of work and it shows. I had four companies give me quotes. They ranged from the sublime to the ridiculous. One firm insisted the pool had to be drained and acid washed after the deck was done. A call to the firm that replastered it a few years ago said, "No! Don't acid wash a plaster pool." Another firm was like working with east coast thugs: "Sign right now and I'll knock five hundred bucks off the deal, but you gotta sign right now!' Uh, no thanks. Another firm, whose salesman had impressed us , never provided a bid. Guess they didn't want the job. Tim Maas was professional, courteous, knowledgable, patient with our many questions, and competitively priced. Unlike a couple of the others, Tim was upfront that cracks could reappear (one bidder insisted that they would never show up again; I knew enough about concrete slabs to know that that is impossible to say). TIm said it would probably be 3-5 years before they did, but he could not guarantee cracks would not return. After all, this is just poured concrete floating on soil. He said when they did, they are easily repaired and repainted to look as good as knew. I understood that and completely appreciated his candor. The crew that did the work not only did an excellent job, but helped move our portable spa in and out of its spot. They were friendly guys who carefully explained exactly what they were going to do each day, then did it!! They cleaned up everything when they were done and left not a shred of debris behind. How amazing is that? Three days from start to finish. The long and wide cracks were power saw widened then filled with an epoxy substance. The top, or lace, coat, covered them completely with no evidence that they had ever existed. Two coats of acrylic paint were applied, you can pick from a wide variety of colors, and the results are just amazing! Guests who knew what the old kool deck looked like can't believe the transformation. It is so impressive. I'm sure I'll get more than my money back when we sell the house. If you are looking to repair, update, or just redo your pool deck, don't waste your time with anyone else - give Tim a call. You won't be disappointed.
