| - A classic, vintage ambiance set in a house turned historic landmark, paired with the chef's tasting menu and Bourdeaux wine complement, made for the perfect belated birthday dinner. The best way to describe a dining experience at McNinch is to feel lost in a dining whirlwind of pure, blissful happiness with the perfect pair of ruby slippers yet no desire to be found.
We began our dinner with Wagyu Tartar, Seared Scallops and Foie Gras as opening courses. The Wagyu Tartar had the perfect texture that simply melted in my mouth. While I enjoyed the scallops, it was nothing out of the ordinary. It was the Foie Gras that warmed my heart. The dish came with a whipped chestnut puree, crispy arugula, and a caramelized onion pound cake. The flavors complemented oh so well and the texture was absolutely perfect. After our opening courses, we received complimentary sorbet as a palate cleanser. DELICIOUS.
For our main courses, we got the Rosemary and Dijon Crusted Rack of New Zealand Lamb and Beef Stroganoff. Both were divine, but I would have to say the Lamb was my favorite of the two. Each piece of lamb was cooked to perfection and complemented well with the parsley couscous ad onion jus. The flavors of the stroganoff blended perfect, but the homemade truffle pasta was definitely the highlight.
On to my favorite part of every meal, DESSERT! We landed on the Chia Panna Cotta and the Baked Alaska Flambe. While both were way too beautiful to devour, their beauty only helped delay long enough for pictures. The Baked Alaska Flambe was completely submerged in whipped cream and then completely toasted with Italian Meringue, lemon and chocolate ice cream simmering inside. My absolute favorite was definitely the Panna Cotta. Presented as a terrarium, a mini pink rose sat in the center with Nutella powder sprinkled all around and honey and ginger caviar subtly placed throughout.
With a single rose and complimentary champagne to help celebrate, I genuinely thank you McNinch for such an amazing experience!
