Thanking my lucky stars for such a great place to lodge out of town guests. Okay, technically, I did not pay for the lodging, but I sure did do the suggesting.
I had my mom stay at Hotel Highland for her Spring Break away from Michigan winter, so I was praying and crossing my fingers and making burnt offering to the hotel gods that this wouldn't be a scary experience for my little mommy. Wishes granted!
Very clean, well-appointed and comfortable rooms. Mom even took a picture of the giant shower-head (what can I say? Simple pleasures) and we both literally said, "Ooh!" to the fancy faucet in the sink. A complementary breakfast in the morning and drinks in the bar from 4:30 to 11:30pm were great to have on hand when Mom had to wait for me to get myself organized in the mornings or put the kids to bed in the evenings. A heated pool and jacuzzi were a welcome treat to her frozen bones and the fact that she was even IN the swimming pool garnered comments from locals like myself who deem any temps sub-100 degrees too cool for pool.
Thank you Phoenix Inn, I mean, HOTEL HIGHLAND, for taking such good care of this girl's mommy. I trusted you with my mommy and you served her well.
