| - Our food was average at best and I had the brisket, which is perfectly described by Jamie T. (below), who said "...they indicated on their menu that it was the house specialty. I had to try it. Not only was the brisket dry but it tasted microwaved and the only "flavor" i could taste was the BBQ sauce they slathered on top."
I sent it back and they said they'd take it off the bill. The bill came and it was still there. We asked about it and they took it off. The service was better than average but not great. The food definitely was not great, but the prices were that of first class barbeque. It wasn't close. Several at our table had the ribs. $24.00 should get a rack but they got about 1/3 of that.
This place is INSIDE Circus Circus - that wasn't mentioned anywhere so it took a bit to figure it out as I was looking for a small BBQ shop on the street. If I had known in advance, I would have been prepared as Circus Circus is a low to mediocre experience known for it's low prices. It caters to families and kids, and I saw more kids and strollers as we walked from the garage to Rock & Rita's than I did for the following 4 days we spent in Vegas - combined.
This is typical megacorp institutional food, not a locally owned BBQ shop, which I thought it would be as there was no mention of Circus Circus on the Groupon. I'm guessing that was intentional.
If you're staying at CC with your kids and you need adult time by yourself, this is a place to escape to in order to get a quick bite, a beer (they had reasonable beer choices), and some adult conversation. As an adult party looking for a fun, delicious barbeque experience, this wasn't it.
