| - Get On The Go MY ASS! If I could give this a minus 1 I would!
I am so mad, so very very very mad at this company. I will never ever in my life use the Go Transit system.
Their motto is "Get On The Go", but I was unable to "Get On The Go", and I have been festering about this ever since. I figured it was time to write the review and get it off my mind....so that something else can take it's place.
My sister who lives in Oshawa was hosting a dinner for my nephews birthday, and since I got rid of my car in March, I have been hitching a ride with my parents for family functions. Well this one fell on a day where I couldn't go home for the weekend in advance and travel with my parents. The plan was for me, and the dog to take the TTC to Union station and get on the Go train, and my sister would pick me up at the station. As I recall it was a Sunday - a day when most people are at home.
I asked my sister if I was allowed to take Finn on the train, and she as a transit employee, albeit not with Go assured me it was fine. I also checked the website and it said nothing about pets. To I pack up and trek to the subway - none of the TTC employees have a problem with Finn riding the train - make it to Union station and transfer over to the Go section of the station. I am stopped in my tracks when I see a no pets sign. I pause and think, but then head right in and get in line to purchase my ticket. I wait in line with a very fidgety dog, make my way up to the agent only to be told that my dog needs to be in a crate!
Needless to say I got into a yelling match with the person. My dog is a cocker spaniel, not a Great Dane, Rottie or even a Lab...he's tiny and sits on my lap in the TTC, if not he lays on the floor! I was SOOOOOO ANGRY. I had to get back on the TTC and head to Finch for my dad to pick me up. There was no apology or even a suggestion from the staff member as to what I should do.
They want people to use their service, but they don't cater to people. It's ridiculous! While I was there, another girl with a dog the same size as Finn was turned away, but they let her buy her ticket and make it almost on the train before a rude employee snapped at her and told her it was a $600 fine! Are you kidding me! My dog, and I'm sure hers as well, is better behaved then most children they let ride the Go!
Once again I will NEVER use this service in my life!
