  • Yesterday I was working in the garden and as usual my glasses were not staying on my face. I took them off to work and ended up stepping on them. A quick google search revealed that Eye Candy Optical was open until 8pm. I called and spoke with Steve Nelson. He told me they would take my insurance and that they could have me in new glasses that same evening. I arrived not knowing what to expect. As I blindly stumbled around the store I was greeted by Steve as he was working with some other customers. My fiance and I spent the next few minutes looking over glasses trying to find the perfect pair. We found a few that we both liked but nothing that screamed me! Then we started working with Steve. Steve quickly got to work and grabbed a handful of frames. He said the easiest way to find the perfect pair is to just find the ones you hate and remove them from the bunch. "The cream always rises to the top" were, I believe, his next words. After finding a few "hate its" we settled on 3 different pairs. I could see the smile in my fiance's face after trying on one particular set. They were the ones. While doing the paperwork both my fiance and I were offered beverages (Lime Perrier? Yes please!). Steve also helped my fiance try on glasses even though he knew she would not be purchasing anything. They also stayed a few minutes after close to make sure my glasses were just right! Steve has a great eye for glasses. You could spend hours trying on different pairs or you could let him work his magic. Eye Candy Optical is a boutique/high end optometrist. They have popular name brands like Oakley and Ray Ban but they also carry other less known, to me, designer brands that offer a surprisingly diverse array of styles. They will treat you well and offer expert help when it comes to deciding on your next frames.
