  • Looks like the problem I had experienced last night is a common problem at this bar after reading some of the other reviews. I've been coming to Champions off and on the last 10 years and it was always an OK experience. Never was I too impressed or too disappointed with anything. It's a total dive with strong, cheap drinks. Lindsay, who works during the day when I see her, is great. One of the best around. Another thin brunette woman is also always really nice to me. Cut to last night's experience which was SO BAD I don't think I can ever go back there. My friends and I were celebrating a birthday. We started here early, maybe around 7. I went to the bar to get a club soda and was greeted by a younger male with black glasses and gauged earrings. He was very nice. He didn't charge me for the drink which was nice so I tipped him a buck. I was a bartender for four years so, I always take care of them. We left shortly after to go to dinner and then we came back around 10 or so. The place was packed! I had never seen so many people there before. I went to the bar to order a vodka drink. I'm not a big drinker so I only have one or two when I go out. I was greeted by a petite girl with black hair and lots of makeup on. I gave her my order and she returned with the drinks. She didn't really say much, didn't really smile either. I didn't think much of it since they were so busy I figured she just must be overwhelmed. Later on I decided to switch back to club soda. I went up to the bar and waited for a while. I was trying to flag someone down but kept getting ignored. I noticed there were two other female bartenders, one who was stocky with brown hair and the other was older with long dirty blonde hair. They both walked past me at least 10 times each and NEVER asked me what I needed. Finally, the black glasses guy came to my rescue and got me my club soda. He was still very nice and pleasant and I left him another tip. As my night was coming to an end, one of my friends said he was going up to the bar to get a couple of waters. I asked him to grab me one. When he came back, he didn't get one for me and apologized by saying he forgot. I went up to the bar and waited....and waited...and waited some more. Stocky brunette and long haired blonde walked past me AGAIN several times. They even stopped to chit chat with someone right in front of me. It wasn't until another patron at the bar noticed I was trying to get their attention and called out to them that I need help before stocky brunette said yeah what do you need. I said "May I have some ice water please" she then tells me, with the rudest tone I have ever heard "There's water in the back by the TV's". I turn to look and there was a large orange dirty vat of presumably tap water. Having no interest in that I turned to ask her to please provide me with cold iced filter water like she did for my friend and she had already walked away. The other patron said "Damn did that just happen? That was not cool. Why she being so rude" Having been a bartender myself, I get it. Your busy, people are drunk and belligerent and you don't want to babysit them. Sometimes you get a little ornery in the world of bartending and for good reason. THIS however was NOT any reason to get rude with me!! I was sober, there with a large party who were spending a lot of money on drinks. Whoever is in charge of this place needs to take some pride in it and make sure their bartenders don't discriminate against women. That's the only thing I can think of as to why, and other yelpers, were treated this way.
