| - I consider myself very lucky to have RRNCA right in my back yard. This is a world class international destination for many reasons, climbing, hiking and scrambling. Lots of different options here for all skill types, from easy to strenuous. Tons of hikes that aren't named on the BLM website or Red Rock that are so incredible you can't believe your a few minutes from Vegas. Waterfalls, running water, canyons, hidden forests and so much more.
Calico Basin, Calico 1 & 2 offer so many different areas to scramble, there is just too many to list. Some of my favorite hikes in RR are Terrace Canyon, Gunsight Notch Peak and Juniper Peak. Right outside RR is the Calico Basin and Kraft Mtn that also offer great scrambling and hikes, and the added bonus is, it's outside the park so no fee.
What other city can you go for a great hike during the day and go eat at a Michelin Star restaurant and see a show after? We really are lucky. I love driving and seeing that brilliant red shining on the West Side.
