  • I'm sad to say that I shared the same experience as most of these reviewers. Having previously been to one of the other Hash House a Go Go's, we were ecstatic when we saw this was opening up near us. My wife was seriously bouncing around the car. She ranted and raved about the Kiwi Watermelon Lemonade. Finally, opening week came! We were ready to go that Friday, though worried about getting a table considering how busy the other locations are. We set out to grab dinner and found that the parking lot was mostly empty. We actually both wondered aloud whether the place was even open. We walked in and found a handful of booths occupied and lots of empty tables and booths. With no one waiting ahead of us, we were told it was going to be a 10 minute wait. It felt like a joke at that point, considering the place was mostly empty. But sure enough, we twiddled our thumbs while the very unpleasant hostesses talked amongst themselves and we waited for the poor bus boy to clean off the table that we were being assigned to, despite the fact that 85% of the tables were already clean and unused. I had looked up the menu ahead of time and was super excited. The appetizers looked enticing and there were at least a couple of entrees calling to me. Of course, when we got there, they only had one menu available. No full complement of dinner entrees, no appetizers at all. And the prices? Well, good lord. The lemonade that my wife had been raving about was priced as if it had alcohol in it - prohibitively expensive. The entree prices aren't too bad once you realize that their serving size is massive. My wife and I decided on the Sage Fried Chicken and Waffles as our last resort, though it was not either of our first choice. The food came out at exactly the 5 minute mark. It was acceptable, as far as dinner goes. Not outstanding, but not disgusting. We didn't so much get the "Sage" part of the Sage Fried chicken and fried chicken is always going to be greasy. But the waffles were great and the waitress (once we were finally able to flag her down) provided us with an extra two cups of the maple reduction (come on now, it's really just a fancy name for syrup). The service really is bad. I have never seen a more dour and frumpy lot of hostesses and servers. The hostesses at the front didn't even crack a smile. There was no greeting, nor a "thanks, have a good night!" when we left. Our waitress disappeared for extended periods, despite the place still not being busy at all. We caught a fleeting glimpse of a waiter who seemed to be congenial but he too vanished after checking on us once. I'm optimistic that this place turns a corner once it's been open longer. Management obviously knew what they were doing with the other locations, so there's still hope of a recovery. A full menu, servers who don't provide you service begrudgingly and more reasonable drink prices would work wonders.
