  • Update 9/9/16: We were surprised to receive a letter by certified mail from Horizon Eye Care today. It contained a typed letter with Galentine, Paul G.'s electronic signature at the end. In summary, it stated that Galentine can no longer provide medical care to my husband and the office would like us to authorize them to release his medical records to another physician. A break-up letter? Seriously? No return call from Office Manager about our complaint regarding last visit. No apology of any kind or attempt to make things right. This letter only shows me how pompous, arrogant, and lacking in compassion this provider is. It reflects on this location and the brand as a whole. A break-up letter does not show this provider cares about their patients or eagerness to ensure they receive the care and treatment for vision conditions they present. Let this review serve as a warning of what type of care and treatment you will receive here...keeping in mind their billing price point practices noted by other reviewers. Shame on you Horizon Eye Care. Last Visit Experience: My husband had cornea replacement surgery on both eyes a few years ago when we lived in Chicago. He was in Chicago for family reasons recently and was able to see his cornea surgeon for a check up and new fitting for one of his eyes that was being problematic. Seems his prescription changed and needed a new fitting. They advised they would be happy to send this information to Horizon Eye Center since he would not be in Chicago long. My husband is an existing patient at Horizon but was seen by another doctor today. My husband advised Dr. Galentine that updated medical records have been sent to this office and all that was needed was for the office to order the lens and schedule a fitting. Dr. Galentine rudely told my husband to go back to Chicago for that service as he would not approve the prescription from the cornea surgeon. His only choice is to redo the process here. That was surprising as the other doctor kindly did this when my husband was first here a year ago. Overall, my husband was denied service and he will have to go a bit longer blind from one eye until we find another cornea specialist in Charlotte. We did appreciate the kindness and help of the front desk staff. They apologized for Dr. Galentine's unprofessionalism.
