After reading all of the positive Yelp! reviews we decided to try Yama Sushi. It is located in a strip mall in one of the seedier neighborhoods in town and looks like a hole in the wall from the outside. Once you walk through their doors the magic begins! It's not fancy but it is comfortable and at four on a weekday afternoon they were at least 75% full.
We were greeted and seated almost immediately at a table for two that was comfortable. There was plenty of space between us and the closest table to us. The establishment is clean and there is a very pleasant odor wafting from the kitchen and the sushi bar.
Our server was very attentive and the food arrived very quickly. We were told to take our time. To eat a little at a time. We were not rushed at all.
It isn't necessary for me to list all of the dishes that we tried because they were all excellent and they are well covered by the 1700 or so other positive reviews. I will say that the Seafood Salad was spectacular! Huge chunks of tuna, salmon, shrimp and other seafood delicacies mixed with some vegetables in the most amazing dressing I have tasted in a very long time. We ordered the dish medium spicy. We ordered a second one with no spice and it wasn't the same. It contained the same ingredients but without the spice it just was not the same.
The rolls that we ordered were magnificent. Large regular sized orders of deliciousness and not the two or three pieces that you might get in other AYCE establishments.
I find it amazing that Yama Sushi can stay in business serving all you can eat great food at such great prices but I'm glad it Des. Dinner for two with two bottles of hot sake was under $60 plus tip. We plan on becoming regulars.
