After reading the reviews below, I decided to take a chance on Good Food. I agree with reviewers who says it is good food not great food. I'm usually skeptical when I see posts about a place being expensive because I cook at home and I know what real food costs. The plates are small. Like you have to be really-kind-to-share small. Give your fellow diner a lick off your plate and then no more. The restaurant has its own parking which was a plus and we got there right at 5:45p so no wait for us. I like that they've got seating outside with tables so if you have to wait someone's thought about your comfort while you do. The restaurant is cozy inside and I can see if it's packed you feel like you can't wait to finish and go.
Onto the food, we ordered the gnocchi, the Korean beef and the fries. I considered the cheese plate but then I saw it walk with tiny squares o' cheese. The gnocchi were good and the most generous of the three items. I would order them again. The Korean beef had about 4 slices of meat on a 3x3 square of rice with scallions on top. Spicy and cooked medium to medium rare. The fries were good, too but we are spoiled and we were looking for something to dip them in. Somehow fries always need aioli to dip.
The bill came to $53 with a $5 NODA on tap and a $13 sangria. I could've skipped the sangria because 1) it was more money than a plate of food and 2) it was more of a mixed drink than a sangria. I will say after two years of living in Charleston, I am biased but I know I'm not alone. So if you've only lived in Charlotte, you might love this place but I can't say we did.
