| - Unfortunately, I am afraid that after over 25 years with Cox Cable, I am going to have to just use a Cell Phone Company. I have 2 Cell phones through T-Mobile at present, and they are offering five for less than I am currently paying for two. I want only internet, and cancel out my phone and cable services. My bill was supposed to be a one year contract at less than $100.00 per month. With taxes, it was costing slightly more than that ($112.00). Since that magical package appeared, my low monthly bill for those services disappeared. Every month my bill raises over $10.00 per month. Since I agreed to a one year contract well over a year ago, my bill continually rose. It is now at $197.00. That being said, I contacted Cox, and they told me that I was obligated to a two year contract, and that I have another year to go. This is not what I agreed to. They want to charge me an early termination fee and refuse to give me an advertised special on their television ads. They say nothing on the ad about having to be a new customer. Paying 200 for a 100 dollar bill is insane. I feel as if I am being sexually abused. They gave me all the tax breakdowns and charges, that I can clearly see on the internet under my account. Somehow it just does not add up. They have done this in the past on three occasions, and I had to literally cancel service for one month, then have them re-install service as a new customer. I am considered a "Diamond" customer. I am about to become a CUBIC ZIRCONIA CUSTOMER. This is blatant theft. When I spoke with the second customer service agent that worked in the Customer Loyalty Department and specialized in assisting the "Diamond" customers, I was told that I am receiving my services at half the price. I then asked him if people really paid over $400.00 for the same services that I have, and he replied yes they do! I then told him that they must be insane to pay that much for television, phone and internet services. I can do better with just Internet and a Cell Phone. I will just start streaming. They also told me I would pay an early termination fee of $100.00 if I discontinue their services. Hey, It's still a lot better than 2400.00 overcharge for a year. The issue I have with that, is the fact that they never mentioned when I ordered the services I currently have, that there would be an early termination fee. Which, I shouldn't have to do in the first place, because I agreed to a one year at $112.00 with taxes and fees. That year is now up for several months now. Century link lies and does not even give very good service as well. Cox Service is Good, but nothing is worth what they are raping from my wallet! I will make other arrangements. I can buy a plug-in that will do the very same thing for $30.00. Or pay for the wifi on my Cell for an additional $5.00. I highly recommend that you do not get involved with Cox Cable, until you can literally sign a document in person. Ordering over the phone, they never disclose any add-on fees. This should be against the law. What is really a shame, is the fact that they are going to see a customer that has been with them for 25 years, is a disabled Veteran, and they are taking full advantage because too many people are dropping their services and streaming. Maybe if they kept their word and kept their pricing in check, more their customer base would increase instead of decrease. Sorry, but I am afraid that I will have to say Goodbye to Cox Cable, and make other arrangements. I can rent a lot of movies for $200.00 per month. I can stream all I want for less than $40.00. Thank you so much Cox, for treating customers the way you have me. You know? The ones that have been with you for almost three decades? What a shame and not to mention, a Poor Business move on their part. Lose another customer. Then you can raise someone else's bill as a result. And yes, it angers me to no avail. They act like they are the only internet providers available. They also promised me a $200.00 prepaid Visa Card when I agreed to their service, which I never received. Three months later, I was told that I was only supposed to get the $100.00 card. It never arrived. When I contacted them, they told me that the promotion was over. That went into another disagreement over the phone that they also won. I hope others can learn from my review. They have always been this way. Well, for almost thirty years!
