| - We went to Eleven for lunch and had a very delicious meal, which I would highly recommend to anyone visiting or residing in Pittsburgh. The meal was worth every penny.
We started our meal with the Barrel & Solera Aged Manhattan and Fall Collins. There is nothing bad to say about either drink, and the cranberry in the collins leant a very nice tartness to the drink.
Moving on we shared the Spicy Tuna Tartare that included sambal, avocado, pea tendrils, and papadum (Indian crispy cracker). While the tuna tartare was a bit spicy the rest of the ingredients balanced out the heat quite well. The pea tendrils really shone through even as a garnish.
The highlight of the meal was definitely the main entrees. The Gerber Farms Chicken featured a roasted chicken breast, braised leg risotto, Swiss chard (and with some other greens), and thyme jus. This entree was rich and full of flavor, but by the end I felt overwhelmed with the saltiness of the dish. The risotto and chicken were expertly cooked and so full of flavor and textures.
I had a small bite of the Sea Scallops, and again full of flavor cooked so nicely. It's really hard to find a good sea scallop that tastes good, and is perfectly cooked.
