I am very unhappy with the inconsistency in swim lessons my child has had at Aquasafe. The reason why I signed him up for swim classes here was because the staff were helpful and the facility is clean. However, the goal of swim lessons is to create a safe, enjoyable, learning environment and that is not what occurred. My child has had 2 different swim instructors here so far and I think they strategically put him with the better swim instructor for my free "trial lesson" so I would enroll him. After his initial swim lesson the original swim instructor's schedule had been booked for the rest of the week so I was forced to schedule him with any instructor they had available. However after that it all went downhill; the last swim instructor my son went to would not stop socializing with other staff members during my paid lesson and kept either intentionally or unintentionally dunking my child's head underwater when he was not ready or not warned he was about to go underwater. He is a tough guy and did not cry during the lesson but when I asked him if he had fun about 30 minutes after his lesson he burst out into tears. He told me never wants to go back to swim lessons or go in a pool again. My son could not stop coughing the rest of the day and has a raspiness to his voice from the chemicals in the pool water being swallowed and I could hear fluid in his lungs when he took his nap that afternoon (I am a licensed medical professional so yes I used a stethoscope and had to monitor him for post aspiration related complications).
Lets keep our children safe, not scare them or discourage them. And most of all, lets not HARM them by being completely careless as seen in this situation.
