| - My first trip to Get A Haircut was somewhat of a roller coaster or hot and cold experience, if you will. My regular spot for a quick trim was closed so I took to yelp to find something close. Most of the reviews were stellar, so I headed towards the Bonneville address listed on yelp. When my GPS confirmed I had arrived G.A.H was nowhere to be found. A quick phone call to an extremely friendly gal on the other end pointed me in the right direction. Located in the Juhl building, Get A Haircut's front door is actually on Fourth Street. Beware of the one way streets.
When I walked in, about an hour before closing, I asked how long the wait was. I was greeted, by the rocker looking dude cutting hair, with "I have no idea". There was one guy in the chair and three waiting. As I sat there, my eye caught a sign that read "cash only". I made a quick trip to the market around the corner to utilize the cash machine and returned to my seat in the waiting area. About an hour later, the friendly gal I spoke with earlier emerged from the back room and locked the door at closing time. Needing a haircut and having nothing pressing to do, I continued to wait.
The shop is decorated much like you would expect to see in a "rocker dude's" garage. Drums and guitars along with classic rock posters and photos. This, along with the classic rock tunes playing, made the wait more tolerable. Finally, it was my turn. J.J. stayed well after closing to take care of the remaining customers and was actually much friendly and more personable than I was imagining after the initial "I have no idea". The dude can cut hair too! Two hours after walking in, I left with one of the best haircuts I've had in Vegas and he only charges ten bucks. I am definitely coming back to Get A Haircut. Rock on!
