| - Took my BF for a steak dinner here. The prices were reasonable for an upper-scale steakhouse, and the place appears to be known for its martinis, which we love, so off we went.
The steaks were great! I got the filet, and the BF got the NY strip. I think we both agreed that my steak was tastier, since it was so tender. I agree with the previous reviewer that they put a lot of pepper on the steaks, but I really thought it added to the flavor. He got horseradish mashed potatoes on the side, which I thought were delicious. I got a baked potato, which they dress for you table-side.
All the steaks are served with a wedge salad with blue cheese. It was very tasty, although I thought it would be better with bacon -- perhaps you should ask for that on the side, if you go.
After dinner, we had Irish coffees. Not on the dessert menu, but they were happy to oblige.
So, bottom line, how do I feel about this place? OK, so a couple of things that I wasn't too jazzed about, and I felt like this impacted my general opinion about the restaurant service:
1) Our waitress was very nice, but scarce. Wouldn't have been that big of a deal, except for....
2) My potato was not hot. I know, I know, I'm being high-maintenance, right? But I don't think so. I've decided to come here, pay for a $35 steak. The least you can do is bring me a potato that's not ROOM TEMPERATURE. Seriously. I want to eat my $7 baked potato with the rest of my meal. I had to wait a while before I could track her down.
Overall, the meal was good. The ambiance is nice. Steak is good. I'd recommend going here -- just don't order the baked potato!
