  • Large fish tank located at the Silverton Hotel, specifically next to the entrance of the Bass Pro Shop. On Saturday, December 26, around 4:45 pm, my husband and I decided to check out this "aquarium" (which is really one large salt water fish tank). This hotel is not dog friendly, but Bass Pro Shop is. And since we had brought one of our dogs, my husband and I decided to just carry our dog and hold her while we were waiting for the show at 5 pm. Anyways, this tank has plenty of sea life to look at (beautiful colorful fish, coral, plants, etc). There were plenty of kids sitting on the floor in the front, waiting for the 5 pm mermaid show. A little before the show, a scuba diver comes out and gets the air valve ready for the mermaid. All of the children and people around get excited since this means the show is going to start shortly. Slowly as the mermaid is lowered on a swing down into the water, she comes out and blows kisses and waves to the audience. The person who plays the mermaid has a beautiful red tail that is quite blingy. After a few kisses and a little swimming here and there, my husband and I (and our little dog), decided to leave. I am sure most people come to see the fish feeding and the mermaid show, but my husband really enjoyed looking at all the fish and coral in the tank. By the way, it must have been okay to bring our dog with us (we did hold her the whole time though) to view the tank because there was one hotel employee walking around and he did see us with our dog. But he did not say anything. So if you happen to at Bass Pro Shop with your dog, you may be able to view the tank (but you may have to have a small dog with you that you can carry though). By the way, there is a restaurant right around the corner from this tank and there is also restrooms very close by in case you need to use them.
