| - not exactly a knock on their chocolate, but actually on Groupon issue
I had a groupon that expired recently, contacted groupon and they said to go and use for amount I paid....simple right?
in any case, picked out some chocolates, went to use groupon and told cashier upfront that it was expired and I would pay for difference in cash. He kind of looked clueless....yeah they really deserve a raise in minimum wage huh? Went to ask a manager, and came back saying I could not use. I asked to speak to the manager, who hobbled out on crutches. She told me I had to contact groupon for refund, and that I could not use it for the amount I paid.
now I can understand this if I had not first contacted groupon about the expired deal. this issue should be between the vendor (Ethel M) and groupon, and I should not be given the run around.
fact is, if you think about it, it is in Ethel M's interest to accept for amount I paid, since there is no promotional discount for me and for the vendor to absorb. if you insist I get groupon refund, I can just go back and repurchase deal for discounted amount right?
don't really understand their (Ethel M) logic in this, but kind of pissed me off to go there and deal with this issue
their chocolate is decent, not exactly cheap, but there are a number of other chocolatiers in vegas that offer good chocolates too. (Sad to say my favorite, Teuscher at the miracle mile shops...or whatever they call themselves now, is now gone....although they were really expensive, they were worth it)
In any case, word of warning, use your Groupon before it expires here, it will save you almost 40-50% on their chocolates!
