Where do I start?? I made a reservation, for a rental vehicle last night, as I hadn't had time to get my oil changed and have my car looked at before my camping trip. I was dropped off at the rental location; I waited in line, checked in, and then I was told that they would be holding the amount of the rental charges on my credit card (sure, no problem) plus a deposit of the same amount so basically double the charges. I asked if I could use two credit cards for this because the information re the addtl charge hold was not listed anywhere in the online reservation information. I was swiftly told I could not!
I've rented a few vehicles in my time but never had a hold put on for double the amount. I explained I was stuck at their rental location as I had been given a ride there and no courtesy was given to, maybe, at the very least, provide me with a ride home via their courtesy shuttle being that I was unable to get the rental vehicle and i was now stuck with no way to get home and outside temps of 108F plus!
They didn't give any inclination of concern. I will say the poor girl helping me tried to see if they would make an exception to put the hold on 2 separate credit cards but management declined. I was very upset by the unprofessional way they handled this. I will NEVER attempt to do business there again. Beware of this business!!!
