| - I'm not a huge breakfast person, but my girlfriend was in the mood so we wanted decided to try a new place. First of all, if you love to wait, this place is your place. Around 10:30am/Sat, the wait is about 35 minutes and you cannot make reservations here. So we waited and waited with little children running all around running into things. It's not that I don't like children, I just prefer them to be well mannered...so I also like to get off topic.
After being seated, I ordered the Reuben sandwich and she got eggs with veggies. The portions are large, we weren't able to finish it all - but I'm not sure if that is because there was so much food or if it was because it wasn't that tasty. The eggs were average and the sandwich was average. The time invested wasn't worth the food reaped. Don't get me wrong, I would choose this place over a Denny's anyday, but I think much of the hype comes from the fact that this place always has a long line. "If there is always a wait, ipso facto the food must be great."
The reason there is always a long line outside is because the restaurant is small. I would much rather have walked next door to Liberty Market. Liberty Market is always packed, but usually there is not much of a wait because there is so much seating available! I won't make this review about how great Liberty Market is, but since they are right next door, it is important to take each one into account.
We finished up with their homemade cinnamon bun - which was actually super gooey and tasty. Too gooey for my gf's pleasure, but I was perfectly happy to use it to cover up the taste of my aforementioned sandwich. Perfect amount of sweet and just the right amount of warmth.
When this place gets busy, it seems like the waiters do forget about you. I think our table was only visited once after our orders were taken. I just wanted a damn water refill and never got it.
All in all, average breakfast spot. If you're hungry, it's not worth the wait. If you wanna try a new place, give it a shot - every place deserves at least one chance. Except for Denny's - there is no need for you to ever go there.
