Paul is worthy of at least six stars and he didn't even fix anything.
My mom's dryer decided to break down and of course instead of calling a repairman, she called me. So what did I do, "Yelped it" of course! I found Paul's profile and figured 39 people can't be wrong.
After chatting with him and explaining to him the weird noises that dryer was making and yet not spinning, he said it sounds like two things, the fan belt and/or the motor. He directed me to do a few more things and deduced over the phone that the motor was the likely suspect. He then explained that a new motor can cost anywhere to $200 - $300 depending on the dryer, and of course my mom's was closer to the three hundred mark. Then also stated that with labor cost and the possibility of needing a new fan belt the entire job could be close to $650 when all is said and done. By the way his quote feel in the middle, a few other people were higher at $750 and few were lower around $500.
I hung up and did some research, we found that he was the only person who said that he didn't need to come down and check it out. Everyone else wouldn't give us a quote over phone, they insisted on coming down to look at it and I can only assume to try and get that extra dollar.
My mom ended buying a new dryer from RC Willey for just under $500 with a three-year warranty and Paul also helped us with a place that would pickup the old dryer. Customer service, it goes way farther than you think. Need a dry or washer repaired? Call Paul, for reals!
