I love farmer's markets but I hate their prices which is why Vegas Roots is so great. They don't charge "artisanal" prices for the food they grow although it is just as good and it is locally grown in the most honest and literal sense. Everyone is kind and their chickens are well cared for.
Do yourself a favor and buy the honey they sell. I could eat it right out of the squeeze bottle, it is so delicious. My kids ate the cantaloupe we bought in one sitting and the cucumbers were not bitter at all, which is common when they are grown organically.
The Veggie Buck Truck is amazing, too. They truly care about providing healthy, nutrient rich food to their community which is why they go mobile to neighborhoods without access to healthy food options.
They also allow a group to feed he homeless on their property on Monday nights.
