| - Rented this apartment site unseen back in 2013 and thought the property was very well maintained, the apartment was spacious, the neighborhood was ok, and the staff was friendly. Maintenance sucked! I put in work orders that took days to be done. I put in a work order because my smoke detector was chirping then the battery died and I needed a ladder to reach it. After calling the office to figure out why maintenance didn't show up that day, the lady told me it was a 48hr turn around time. Pretty sure smoke detectors not working could be considered an emergency request. Anyways, 3 years later and the place had gone way WAY downhill.
The following stories/reasons why one would not want to rent here at Firenze are almost too good to be true.
The first year was great. Very minimal issues. After renewing the lease, one morning I decided myself a glass of milk. Upon opening the cabinet door hanging next to my sink, the ENTIRE THING came off the wall and on top of me. Glass dishes, plates, mugs, bowls, cups, went everywhere! Pictures show the damage but not pictured is the blood on the carpet from glass getting stuck in my foot trying to put the cabinet on the floor as well as all the broken dishes and the intense pain that came from holding the cabinet up and trying to keep it from completely crushing me. Come to find out the cabinet was NOT in studs but only the drywall. I went to the office in pain, previously crying because damn that was a heavy cabinet and Oh! all my stuff is broken as well, and the office sent maintenance to fix the issue. The head of maintenance accused me of hanging on the cabinet which possibly pulled it out of the wall. Nope, sorry bud! I merely opened the door and it fell out of the DRYWALL! Cindy was so kind to give us a $50 gift card to replace our items. I appreciate it. $50 REALLY covers the souvenir mugs from many travels that were broken as well as many other dishes. Not to mention the fact that I was now concerned other parts of my apartment might start falling because they were not properly installed.
Next up is the prostitutes! Despite all the homeless people rummaging through your trash outside each night and during the day, there were some problems with the types of people living here. This complex has some attached garages and some single garages that people can rent out. One of the single garages in my building was newly occupied and very strange because every so often there would be a small webcam type camera sitting outside of the garage door. Some days it would be hiding in the tree some days just sitting on the ground. One day the garage door was left up and you could see in it that there was a bed in the back and some dim lighting. The neighbors garage next to them mentioned they could often hear screaming and banging throughout the day. Come to find out, the man was bringing prostitutes over and using the small camera to see if anyone was outside in order to let the ladies leave. DISGUSTING! At one point I left for work and saw one lady using the hose outside of the garage to wash herself. Classy.
The best part of staying here and I mean it was REALLY great is my neighbor who is in his late 40s who lived across from me and LOVED to sit on his deck and smoke. He was friendly, always had conversations and chatted while passing through. Then out of nowhere exposed himself several times while I was alone and talking to him. As a female who was often home alone this made me very uncomfortable and afraid because he had been nice and all of the sudden was exposing himself on his deck when I walked by . I didn't tell any staff because I was hoping this was a mistake and plus the fact he mentioned he had guns on him made me nervous as well. Instead I chose to avoid him at all times when leaving the apartment, walk the other direction, park near a different building, and keep my lights off at night so it looked like no one was home. Counting down the days until my lease was up because I couldn't afford to break it, I was getting more and more excited to move somewhere safer. As I went into the office and gave my notice of leaving, Melissa asked me what the reason for not renewing was. At this point I decided I am leaving this disgusting place and neighbor so I told her safety was a huge concern. I told her how he had exposed himself to me and that I felt uncomfortable. You want to know what her response was? "Maybe he is just lonely?" Melissa, really? Do you really think that was the most appropriate response including the giggling you so happened to let out? SHE THEN PROCEEDED TO WRITE ' RENT INCREASE' ON MY NOTICE PAPERS. Bitch you have got to be kidding me.
Besides all those unbelievable issues, the dog shit left throughout the complex grass areas and including smeared across the mailbox walkways was a nice touch. The roaches and insane amount of crickets even on the 2nd floor and the pools that were poorly cleaned added to amenities that were included in my rent.
