  • This is going to be a two-part review, as today I had my free consultation and I will return in 2 weeks for my actual cleaning. I have had dental anxiety for awhile now - I will not say how longs it's been since I've gone to the dentist because I'm pretty embarrassed about it. I finally got the courage to set an appointment here for a sedation consultation and I am so glad I did. Everyone was so friendly and since I mentioned during my call that I was nervous, they were all super gentle with me. Everyone was aware that I was nervous and they took extra care to make me feel welcome and calm. Today I got x-rays in a totally non-intrusive machine that simply requires you to stand still and bite on a stick while the machine rotates around you head. The hygienist did a super fast check to see what the damage would be when I came back for my actual appointment, and Dr Runco came in to take a look at my x-rays and have a fast look in my mouth. The whole time I was in the chair I enjoyed the massage and heat features, as well as the ceiling mounted television which gave me somewhere to focus my nervous energy. I had done some research before, so I knew I wanted to use nitrous oxide for my appointment, so Dr Runco explained what he was going to do when I return. He was also so complimentary of my teeth. He kept saying that I had great teeth and that all I needed was a deep cleaning. I needed to hear that, because I was so nervous that my dentist would be judgy since I haven't been in so long. He is used to dealing with some really rough cases where every single tooth needs something done to correct it, so my (cavity free! yay!) mouth will probably be one of their easier jobs. My point is, don't let shame or embarrassment of the condition of your teeth stop you from going in. He made me feel totally comfortable and not at all bad for not going in so long. He is used to seeing the worst of the worst and I believe he would make you feel at home and at ease even if your teeth are a mess. Since I thought that I would have some cavities since it has been so long, I expected that the estimate would be high. I am pleased with the price they quoted me, even though their charge for nitrous oxide is higher than the Google told me when I asked about national average. The price came in much lower than expected, and for the environment and treatment they provide, I would be willing to pay much more. They provide a great value. If you have any sort of dental anxiety, I totally recommend going in for a free consultation. I am SO afraid of the dentist and it has taken me far too long to get my big girl pants on and make an appointment. I am looking forward to my deep cleaning and will report back after it's done!
